A watched pot never boils, and apparently seeds don’t sprout either. Now that my lettuce and arugula seeds are up, I am eagerly awaiting the others. I love growing things from seed, but apparently I am not in the right frame of mind for WAITING. Agggh!

I futzed around with Folia today. Added the seeds I started on Sunday and updated my seed stash. I upgraded to a supporter account, so I have some additional features, which is nice. How much I use those features remains to be seen.
I’m growing plants from seed again this year. I had a lot of fun growing veggies and flowers last year, and I’m going to try some more, different kinds of things this year. In addition to the zucchini, tomatoes, Salvia, and the other usual suspects, I’ll be trying to grow artichokes, carrots , and lettuce from seed. I love these vegetables, but I’ve never tried to grow them before.
I will also be participating in the GROW project, a group of garden bloggers who signed up to grow the same plant and share experiences. Kind of a “grow club”. I received my seeds from Renee’s Garden about two weeks ago, and I’m really excited about the project. I can’t wait to write my first official post on April 1st!
This is what I’m planning to start now in 7A:
Indoors:
Artichoke
Basil
Broccoli (my plants from the fall still seem to be alive!!?)
Cucumber
Eggplant
Onion
Peppers
Transplant:
Leeks (I wonder if the ones from last fall are still alive?)
Direct Sow:
Arugula
Carrots
I spent a good part of my day today at the U.S. Botanic Garden’s Production Facility. It’s a once-a-year opportunity that I am so glad to have found out about. Thanks to the suggestion from a new member of our garden club.
There were lots of beautiful things to look at, and many nice staff and volunteers to chat with. I was definitely among my people today.
