Where Blizzards Are Not from Dairy Queen

My friends in Arizona are coming to the close of the pleasant gardening season and heading toward the time of year that I think of as “Extreme Gardening”. Here in the DC area, we’re experiencing the first major snowstorm of the year. A friend of mine took the following pictures while she waited for the bus this morning:

Green Thumb Sunday: Spring Beckons

I took this picture while on a walk a few days ago.  There is something so hopeful about seeing bulbs coming up after the winter.

Emerging tulips

It looks like there are also some shrubs poking through the soil in this picture as well.   I didn’t notice them while I was looking at the tulips.  Funny how the picture shows more than real life did.
