I’m on the email mailing lists of a number of different charitable organizations, and I receive emails about their activities on a fairly frequent basis. Some of these lists receive postings from other organizations, which is nice, because it allows me to be informed about related work that is going on in other organizations. I received one such email a couple of weeks ago, from a group that is starting up a clean drinking water program for schools in developing nations. “Great idea.” Was my first thought. Drinking water for schools means that an entire community (potentially) has access to clean drinking water. This is such an important thing for everyone - clean water means a reduction in disease, and an increase in crop harvests, and is in general, a critical part of human survival.
Which started me thinking (or rather, made an internal conversation surface again): what about clean drinking water in this country?

Facts about Me:
- I am a book hoarder. I finally had to make myself stop buying books, otherwise we would a) be broke and b) be overrun by books. Thank goodness for the public library.
- I would eat Italian food every day if I could. Seriously.
- I am a crime show fanatic - CSI (Original), NCIS, Law and Order (all the versions), Cold Case. You name it.
- I cannot stand the taste of brussel sprouts, but I think they look damn cool on the stalk.
- I am allergic to corn.
- I am bi-craftual. (For non-fiber folk, that means I knit and crochet.)
- I am a garden addict. I miss being able to garden year-round like I did in Arizona.

I’ve heard about Sundara’s Yarns from a couple of different blogs. Today I happened to read through some back posts of the Runcible Bin, where I was reminded how how beautiful Sundara’s yarn is. Sigh.
I think I want the Black over Peacock sock yarn more than I want the Wasabi sock yarn from ShiBui Knits, which is saying a lot. I need to start a list… if only Ravelry had a “Yarn Queue” for as of yet unpurchased yarn (and yes, I did request the feature).
