Day One…
Well, the first day went well, but it was mostly HR stuff. Sign a bunch of forms, figure out your new insurance (mind you it’s going to change in a month anyway). I find first days exciting but so incredibly frustrating. It’s a new beginning, which is great, but it means having to start from scratch again, meeting new people and trying to remember names and faces, and where the printer is. (Most people worry about where the bathrooms are, but I usually have more trouble finding the printer.)
But, my boss is cool (though not around much) and I like my office mate, which are both good things. Everyone seems really nice, and I think it will be a really interesting place to work. (Sorry for being vague about *who* I’m working for, but it’s probably best that I don’t give specifics here.)
This week also marks the beginning of our search for a new car - wish us luck!

Congrats on getting through Day One! I’m following your lead, I start at a new place next week–after 9 years at the last place, I’ve got the willies, you can be sure.
And good luck on the car hunt. Always turn to Click & Clack if you need guidance…..

I understand being vague. I broadcast my job location once and was found my several co-workers and my boss. Yipes!
As for a car, have you thought about the cute and economical Yaris???
