Improving on Lunch

You may remember that I started carrying my lunch to work a while ago. I haven’t been carrying my Mr. Bento much recently, because I’ve been carrying sandwiches a lot. If I carry a sandwich, I typically carry it in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. Unfortunately, however, I haven’t found a good way to wrap my sandwich. I hate using Tupperware for sandwiches, partly because they take up too much room in my lunch bag. I prefer a more flexible “wrap” for my sandwiches, but I hate wasting resources by using aluminum foil or saran wrap. Paper towels aren’t much better in terms of resource waste, and they don’t hold up very well.

A couple of months ago, I read about a product called Wrap-N-Mat, that is a reusable sandwich wrap and place mat. I just ordered a couple and I’ll be sure to let you know how they work out.

Some other cool lunch gear:

*fancy insulated lunch bags
*reusable grocery bags/lunch totes
*hand-printed lunch bags
*Dumpling Lunch Cooler
*Frog (and Cat) Lunch bags made from recycled soda bottles

Please note: I’m not necessarily endorsing any particular product, I’m just sharing stuff I’ve found.
