Fabulous Find

My new favorite Trader Joe’s snack? Hummus with horseradish - garlicky, horseradishy, and well… darned good.

On a side note: The cashier who checked me out the day I bought my hummus with horseradish was completely grossed out, and proceeded to tell me how gross she thought it was. She doesn’t like horseradish, so the ick factor was very high for her, apparently. I thought it was rude of her to say anything at all, but apparently boundaries are lacking in the world these days.

Wildflowers on my Mind

Posted in Environment, Flowers, Gardening, Musings, Plants at 11:06 am by trueepicure

CBS Sunday Morning had a great “article” on Claudia Johnson this weekend. Mrs. Johnson is better known as “Lady Bird” Johnson, the wife of U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was remembered for her involvement in getting the Highway Beautification Act of 1965 passed into Law. Mrs. Johnson also started the National Wildflower Research Center, with actress Helen Hayes, which was later renamed the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

I’m sure that Mrs. Johnson is remembered by many people for many other things, but I can’t imagine a better thing to be remembered for than wanting to make the world a more beautiful place.

About 10 rows shy of completion:

Chart B - Almost Done

I just finished Harry Potter 3 - The Prisoner of Azkaban, which is part of why the Stole is taking so long. I’m working through the set again to be prepared for Book 7 and the movie.

Summertime, Summertime

Sum-sum-summertime!

Cherries always mean summer to me - Ranier cherries particularly so because of their sunny cheeks.

A Little Bit O' Summer

Life is just a bowl of cherries.
Don’t take it serious; it’s too mysterious…
