Those of you familiar with New York City know about SoHo (South of Houston Street) and NoHo (North of Houston, or North Hollywood if you’re on the Left Coast). NoLita (North of Little Italy, is south of NoHo, but east of SoHo. But don’t confuse New York’s SoHo with London’s Soho.
I know about BoHo (The area of Manhattan surrounding the Bowery south of Houston Street), and a longtime friend grew up in TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal Street). Other neighborhood rebranding attempts/successes include: BoCoCa and DUMBO in Brooklyn, and SoBro (South Bronx). But have you heard about FroNo?
Yeah, I didn’t think so. I just made it up this morning. FroNo = Frozen Nose; that wonderfully horrible feeling when you step out of the house, into 35 degree weather and your nose hairs tingle because they are frozen into mini-icicles. YESSSS!

That reminds me of my favorite Calvin and Hobbs cartoon. Calvin spends three panels standing in the snow, just scrunching his nose around and then he says to Hobbs "Don't you hate it when your boogers freeze." Classic.
Happy Thawing!
