Corn-free Mints
In the never ending quest to replace corn products in my diet, I’ve been trying to find mints that are safe for me to eat. I found some great mints online: St. Claire’s Organics. They have a variety of products from mints to candies to throat drops. And they’re all corn-free! They are also free of most other allergens and are vegetarian.
I bought a tin of peppermints last night at Whole Foods. They’re a little off-putting at first because they are brown (from molasses crystals) as opposed to the usual white peppermints like Altoids. They taste good, however, and two tiny mints get rid of coffee mouth! I’ll be trying some of the fruit flavors next.

What a nifty find - I would have thought that molasses derived mints would have had that powerfully molassesy taste - but to kill coffe breath it must be alright.
[My mother drinks a lot of coffee - and to me, the smell of coffee breath evokes the memory of her Vent Vent perfume, and having a cuddle. Thus it is a very pleasant smell to me.]

How about Corflakes? I am sure they don’t contain any corn

Co-ops, Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Henry’s, or any other natural food store will offer greater variety than your typical supermarket. Some of the larger ones may actually have a nutritionist on staff. A coworker commented to me recently that at the co-op she worked at, their specialty was providing allergen-free food. Our own experience with seeking -free foods has led us to stores we avoided in the past because of the higher price, but we’ve been mostly pleased with what we’ve found. We’ve also found a few places on the web for buying allergen free foods. GlutenSolutions.com lets you search for foods based on what you want to eliminate from your diet. Also, try Asian supermarkets. You’d be surprised at what can be made from rice. I recommend daifuku as a nice corn-syrup free desert.
