Motoring West on Route 66 - In Reverse

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:10 pm by trueepicure

So, if you haven’t figured it out already, we’re moving. Later this summer we’ll be heading East on Old Route 66… or I-40 if you aren’t familiar with the Interstate System.

We’re selling the house, selling all our stuff that we don’t need (which is A LOT), throwin’ the cat in the back (okay, we’re not going to really throw her), and starting our life together in Washington DC. It’s going to be a blast! I’m going to have a new job, which will be fun and stressful at the same time. Ed (yes, E does have a real name) will be doing various interesting things.

In order to minimize our moving costs, we’re selling a lot of stuff that we don’t really need. Check out our Ebay lists (see my sidebar) and shop for stuff you want - cheap! (Save on shipping if you’re local.) My list is mostly music and movies, and Ed has a lot of geeky stuff (computers, cables, audio equipment, and other stuff I don’t understand).

It’s going to be hard to leave Arizona, but it’s time to move back to the east, where the summers aren’t like living in a convection oven, and trips to see my mom don’t break the bank. I’m going to miss all of my friends here, and my West Coast family. That’s the tough part.

I guess I’m going to have to make boucoup $$ and become a world traveller!

If you ever plan to motor west,
travel my way, take the highway that’s the best.
Get your kicks on Route sixty-six.

It winds from Chicago to LA,
more than two thousand miles all the way.

Now you go through Saint Louis
Joplin, Missouri,
and Oklahoma City looks mighty pretty.
You see Amarillo,
Gallup, New Mexico,
Flagstaff, Arizona.
Don’t forget Winona,
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino.

Won’t you get hip to this timely tip:
when you make that California trip
