Don’t Call Me Crazy…
I already know I am. I joined the Knitting Olympics. I am going to knit this lovely Norwegian-style hat. Somehow I managed to not be my usual dopey self, and I actually ordered the kit from Bea Ellis today, the day before they all went on vacation. Sometimes I amaze myself!
All I can say, is that my Norse ancestors had better be helping me out with this one. I’m going to need all the help I can get. Do you think that knitting in your ancestral method is hereditary? I really hope so! Great-great-grandpa Ole and Great-great-grandma Galina will be proud!
This led me to wonder if Jamaicans have a tradition of knitting or another particular textile tradition. That I can tell, no. I couldn’t find anything on the web either. Any thoughts on the matter?

I can help you knit the hat if you have problems!
I have knit 2 1988 Olympic sweaters, an additional Norwegian sweater and numerous pairs of snowflake and 1994 Olympic mittens!
You are gal with some Moxy!

Very, very cute. What color are you doing it in?

I can’t believe you’re doing knitting Olympics! The Jamaican tradition would probably be something that came from Africa. Might be worth looking into. I’m interested in African textiles.
