Chicken Pix
I promised chicken pictures, and here they are. Don’t say I never gave you anything!
This is Mootsie:

This is Phyllis:

And I don’t know who this is, but we’ll call her Tina (as in Turner):

These are just a few of the chickens living on the cul-de-sac in North Phoenix. If you are local and you need some chickens, let me know. Make sure that your city or town allows poultry within the city limits. Most cities in Arizona seem to allow it, but make sure before you decide to adopt. (Further proof that we’re not in NYC any more!)
(Pictures are posted with permission of the photographer, which is not me.)

I love fresh eggs! My good pa-in-law used to have several hens, and some guinea fowl. The eggs were wonderful and the yolks were gorgeous.
He started out with one hen that just showed up. Literally. Out in the middle of Central Texas, where he had 17 acres and two roaming cats, this hen showed up. And stuck around and had……babies. And they had EGGS.
Gooood chickie.
My good in-laws had to give up the farm recently though, it was getting too hard for them to live out of town at almost 80.

I’ve seen a lot of chickens, but those are actually pretty cute. I’m so jealous you’re in Arizona…we hope to move there someday
