Books from the Library

So, I have some books out from the library…

I Capture the Castle and some book about the Austro-Hungarian Empire that has a lot of pages in it. I had another book out, The Eyre Affair, but I had to take it back after getting halfway through it. “Why,” you ask? Well, I was afraid that I might get infected with some blood-borne pathogen. “Uuuuuh?!” Yep, you read that correctly. Blood-borne pathogen.

I was mid-way through the book and I turned the page, and their were blood spots on the page. At first I wasn’t sure what it was, and I had convinced myself that it was chocolate or something. But, when the pages were stuck together and I turned the next one, and it was very obvious what it was, I put the book down.

I took it back to the library and told them what had happened. The clerk shook his head and said: “Well, at least it isn’t soaked in blood.” (EEEEWWWW!) He said that he has seen much worse than what I was showing him, but that it was a good idea to turn the book in. Uh… yeah.

I will admit that I have some issues about library books to begin with. Sometimes they are stinky from being around smokers, and sometimes they just smell odd. It kind of makes a person wonder. I hope the next book I open doesn’t have something gross in it, because I don’t think I can take much more of that.

Ewwwww! I’m chalking this up to “what they don’t teach you in library school.”

I can lend you ‘The Eyre Affair’ if you’d like. I also have the second one, the name of which is escaping me currently.

I can ALMOST promise you that there is nothing gross in it. But Lucy does do some strange things when I’m not home.

And ‘I Capture the Castle’ is really good, you’ll like it.
